Royce Ramos: From Martial Philosophy to Tactical Design

Royce Ramos is the founder and head instructor of Nomad Kali & Combat Fitness in West Nyack, NY. With over 35 years of martial arts experience, he has trained in various disciplines, including Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Kajukenbo, Tai Chi, Hsing I Chuan, Combat Jujitsu, Lethwei, and more. His dedication to Pekiti-Tirsia Kali (PTK) spans over 25 years.

In 2010, Royce established Nomad Kali & Combat Fitness, transforming it into a full-time institution by 2012. The academy emphasizes mental and physical preparation, blending traditional martial arts methodologies with functional fitness to develop pragmatic skill sets applicable in any situation.

Royce's commitment to practical combat led him to design the NEXKUT Fierce – NMD76 Combat Knife, a dual-knife set built for both real-world use and instructional demonstrations. The set includes a live blade and a red-edged trainer, featuring dual finger rings, a reinforced 3.25-inch blade, and an ergonomic grip for speed, control, and mission-ready reliability .

His philosophy centers on the idea that martial arts are not just about techniques but about mastering oneself and one's environment. Royce often emphasizes that true martial mastery involves understanding and controlling one's reactions, maintaining composure under pressure, and applying learned skills effectively in real-life situations.

Through his teachings and innovations, Royce Ramos continues to inspire and equip individuals with the tools to navigate the complexities of modern life, ensuring that martial arts remain a relevant and vital discipline.
