Proper care of your NEXKUT tactical and outdoor knives not only extends their service life but also ensures reliable performance in every mission. Follow these guidelines to keep your knife in peak condition.
Rust Protection
After extended use or before long-term storage, apply a thin coat of rust-preventive oil to the blade surface.
If the knife comes into contact with acidic or alkaline substances (e.g., fuel, chemicals, tree sap), rinse thoroughly with clean water, dry completely, and reapply rust-preventive oil.
Keep Clean & Dry
If the blade is exposed to water, mud, or oil, clean it promptly and dry it thoroughly.
Use a soft cloth or tissue for daily cleaning. Avoid abrasive tools that may scratch the blade.
Do not clean knives in a dishwasher or with high heat, as this may damage the pivot, coating, or handle.
Proper Use
NEXKUT knives are precision cutting tools designed for tactical and outdoor tasks. Do not use them as pry bars, screwdrivers, or chisels to avoid damaging the blade or pivot.
Edge Maintenance
Regular sharpening preserves cutting efficiency. Use whetstones, ceramic rods, or professional sharpening systems as needed.
Recommended process: coarse grind (reshaping) → medium grind (edge forming) → fine grind/polishing.
Suggested edge angles for tactical/outdoor knives:
20°: precision cutting / light use
25°: general-purpose / heavy-duty use
30°: extreme chopping / survival conditions
Lubrication & Function
Apply a drop of lubricant to the pivot and moving parts of folding knives regularly to ensure smooth operation.
In dusty or fiber-heavy environments, use a dry PTFE-based lubricant to reduce debris buildup.
Recommended lubricants: light machine oil, firearm lubricants, or PTFE dry lubricants.
Screws & Components
Pocket clips, pivots, and screws may loosen during use. Inspect them regularly and tighten gently with the correct Torx driver.
Avoid overtightening to prevent thread damage.
If parts are missing or damaged, contact NEXKUT support for replacements.
Storage Recommendations
Store knives in a dry, ventilated environment when not in use.
Do not keep fixed blades in leather sheaths for long periods, as leather retains moisture and can cause rust.
Use desiccants or sealed storage cases for added protection.
